Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Full Details: Release date, Cast, Crew, Story and Trailer: Following his reunion with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s resident friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is propelled across the Multiverse, where he runs into the Spider Society, a group of Spider-People tasked with defending the very existence of the Multiverse. Yet when the heroes disagree on how to tackle a new threat, Miles finds himself at odds with the other Spiders and must set them against the villain.

Captain George Stacy of the police force on Earth-65 has no idea that his daughter Gwen is the superhero Spider-Woman. Years ago, when Peter Parker was out on the run as the Lizard, Gwen accidentally killed him, and the police have been on her tail ever since. Gwen meets a Vulture one night who is from a parallel dimension where the Italian Renaissance occurred. Gwen is assisted in defeating the Vulture by Miguel O’Hara and Jess Drew, two Spider-People who come via portal generated watches. After cornering Gwen, she finally exposes her true identity to George, who is so devastated by the news that he tries to arrest her. In order for Gwen to escape with Miguel and Jess, Miguel reluctantly accepts her into the Spider-Society.

Miles Morales meets the Spot, an Alchemax scientist whose body was infected with portals following the collider explosion, in Brooklyn, Earth-1610, sixteen months after the collider’s destruction. The Spot places the blame on Miles, explaining that the spider from Earth-42 bit Miles during collider testing, transforming him into Spider-Man. The Spot then mistakenly sends himself into the vacuum, where he visits parallel dimensions equipped with Alchemax colliders in order to supercharge himself even higher.

Gwen goes to Earth-1610 to find Miles again while also following the Spot covertly. When she goes through a portal to Earth-50101, Miles surreptitiously follows her there, where they join forces with the native Spider-Man Pavitr Prabhakar and, later, Hobie Brown to fight the Spot, who has absorbed the energy from Earth-50101’s collider. The Spot and Miles have a shared nightmare in which the Spot murders both the father of Pavitr’s lover (the Police Inspector Singh) and Miles’ father (Jeff). Miles saves Singh as the collider collapses, but Earth-50101 is already coming apart from the disruption of its “canon event” before the Spider-Society can come to stop it. On Earth-928, hundreds of Spider-People call the Society’s headquarters home, so Miles, Gwen, and Hobie are dispatched there.

On their visit to Miguel, Miles, Gwen, and Hobie run with Peter B. Parker and his young daughter, Mayday. Miguel explains that the stories of the Spider-People all involve “canon events,” such as the death of a police captain close to Spider-Man, and that deviating from these events poses a threat to reality and may cause the collapse of that universe, as Miguel saw firsthand when he tried to replace a dead version of himself in another universe.

Miles is aware that the murder of Jeff, a police officer who was about to be promoted to captain, by Spot is a canon event. To stop Miles from freeing Jeff, Miguel locks him up, but Hobie helps him get out of jail just before he quits the Spider-Society. Miguel gives orders to the Spider-Society to stop Miles as he runs through the complex, and soon there are hundreds of Spider-People all around the city trying to catch him. After cornering Miles, Miguel explains that the anomaly is responsible for the death of Peter Parker on Earth-1610 and that Miles was never meant to become Spider-Man.

Miles gets away and tries to return to the dimension he thinks is his own. Miguel, seeing Gwen as a liability, is so angry that he kicks her out of the Society and banishes her to Earth-65. After arriving, Gwen and George make up. He returns her the gateway watch Hobie left her and explains why he quit as police captain.

Miles is shocked to find out that he is not in his own realm but rather Earth-42. Since Spider-Man doesn’t exist in this universe, crime is rampant and Jeff’s dead uncle Aaron Davis is still around to cause trouble. Gwen goes to Earth-1610 to reassure Miles’ parents that she will find him and bring him home while the Spider-Society continues its hunt for him. Aaron holds Miles down, and we learn that Miles from Earth-42 has taken on the identity of the Prowler.
